Alcantara Steering Wheels

Has anyone any experience of BMW alcantara finished wheels?

I'm thinking if treating the 1er to the carbon finish with display but reading mixed feedback on wear etc after 12/18 months and BMW not being receptive to any warranty claims, I guess as classed as wear :cry:



Don't want to take the plunge if they're not much cop.

Alcantara holds out fine on steering wheels as long as you don't have sweaty hands.....they are lovely to hold. A friend has one in his Cayman and it's gorgeous
 
Those steering wheels look amazing Tim ... Wish the electronics on the E85/86 weren't so old :-(
 
Tar for the replies, sweaty hands, hmmmmm will just have to don my trusty driving gloves :lol:

Some of the Z3 guys have used Royal Steering wheels and very good they are too, the BMW wheel I'm after extra gizzmos for the 1er, oil, coolant temp displays etc.

I had one in the MR2 and the Juke Nismo has one, on hot days if your hands sweat it wears and ruins the finish.
