Hello all, Help me please......
I picked up my 2003 2.2 yesterday, and have had alarm issues since :( I have disconnected the bonnet sensor....still went off...Then I double blipped, ie pressed lock on keypad once, then a longer hold until red light under mirror stayed on for a cpl seconds (I thought this is how you disabled the alarm), alarm has just gone off again!!
One other weird thing, after I first blipped keyfob, the indicators didn't flash, until I disconnected the bonnet sensor :(

Help!

It maybe the tilt sensor which I understand is a pain to get to - behind the sat nav drive?

In the meantime I would just lock the car with the key as this will not enable the alarm

Hi -if it were me i would be taking it straight back to where you bought it from
+1, meantime just lock with the key as ranski pointed out

I would but garage I got it from is 200 miles away :( I will have a look over the warranty when it comes through.

Is the alarm going off every time? Have you got the roof up when locking it?

Roof up, doors and windows secured. Anyone think battery might be the problem? Im taking it into ATS for oil change tomorrow I prob get them to have a look.

Battery could be a cause - I had an intermittent alarm issue, replaced my battery with a Bosche S6 (Ah rating was the same as the stock battery) mainly because the battery wasn't holding a full charge, but also did a clean & recondition on the bonnet switch at the same time. Haven't had an issue since.

Sounds like the tilt sensor like everyone said. If you bought it from a garage I would be on the phone to them first thing tomorrow morning if I were you.

I had problems with mine when I first bought the car too. Turned out the interior sensor was causing the false alarms. Had to have that replaced along with a faulty siren unit. Garage I bought it from refused to fix it, so it ended up costing me £500 total

According to the manual.
When the vehicle is locked or unlocked either
with the remote control or at the driver's door
lock, the alarm system is simultaneously armed
or disarm
