Alarm problem

My 2013 z4 has developed an alarm fault when I lock the car the alarm starts after 20 seconds it's fine if I press the lock button twice I have done a scan with Carly and no faults showing ,I have read on here about a fault with heavy rain hitting the door but this occurs on every lock up rain or not can a sensor be giving a false alarm without showing a fault on Carly, I have tried looking for spiders or cobwebs it's driving me mad !

I placed a metal object behind the drivers seat and my alarm would go off.
I discovered it wasn't very loud.
I removed the metal object and the alarm behaved itself.

A forum member "Jabber" kindly gave me the link to the BMW fix - it was nothing more complicated than a sheet of turkey foil attached to the inner skin of the door - I didn't see it (it was a warranty job) but thats what the tech manager said and it worked! Ive searched for his post but the photo he posted has been removed - perhaps if you PM him?????

The double press disables tilt and internal sensors.

Wouldn't fitting foil to the inside of the door skin jam the signal from the microwave sensor?
Just disabling that function.
It's a plastic box about the size of a fag packet attached to the door.

I had the "fix" and it worked perfectly ever after!

thanks for the reply's I have booked it in with main stealer to be looked at ,its still within warranty so hopefully should get sorted

There has been a technical bulletin published that details the fix. My dealer said that they had no knowledge of it at first then when pushed, it suddenly appeared!

Ok, am I the only one who thinks this seems deliberately vague... "I place a metal object behind the driver's seat..."?
A wheel brace, a machete or an AK47 springs to mind  .
Nothing like a little 'personal security' tucked away behind the seat.
Perfectly understandable if you choose not to elaborate :P
