Hi guys,

I have a 2003 BMW Z4 and whenever I lock or unlock the doors no beeping or even the flashers blink at all i know that they should beep and blink but nothing happens, when I press the unlock button only the interior lighting and the door handle light are switched on no blinking or beeping.
I was reading about the problems of the alarm and found the most common of the problems is the "Bonnet switch", knowing this, I went to the car, opened the hood, and started searching the switch. I found this image on internet:

This was all I found. NO BONNET SWITCH ON IT.

I only found where the cable is connected, and the connector with nothing connected.
What if I order online the Bonnet switch, do you think that fix my alarm?

i appreciate your help on this issue!

If the only issues you have with the alarm is the lack of audio/visual notification when armed/disarmed there may not be a problem. This can be coded, and from the factory the notification is only one way. I've coded mine yo work for both.

If you want to test the alarm is working the put the toot down, activate the alarm and then wait a minute or so and wave you arm around in the car at low level. You can also try jacking the car up and opening the bonnet with the alarm on. Both of these events have tripped mine.

You don't need the bonnet switch for the alarm to work. They often fail and are removed as a test.
I'd certainly get one though and fit it for improved security and peace of mind.

^ ditto. They are £10 new from BMW, worth a try for your issue too. I guess the previous owner took it out due to the common issue.
