Alarm & MDD Module

Hi all,

I believe I have a tilt sensor alarm on my Z4 fitted from factory. Just curious if I were to buy the motion detector module, whether it would be plug n’ play or whether I’d need to install additional sensors?

I noticed a loose wire when swapping my rear centre console and have since found out this may be for an alarm module. I found some contradictory information online as to which module sits in this location.

I was actually under the impression my alarm wasn’t working at all. I could not seem to set it off no matter how hard I tried (opening doors manually with the key after setting the alarm etc), however last week I parked sideways up an incline and when I returned and tried to open the door (not realising I’d locked it), my alarm went off! 🥳

Could anyone advise me on this subject? I’d much rather add the motion detecting option as I often leave valuables in the car with the windows down.

To add to this, I have already had this conversation with [ref]Gee-Lanty[/ref], and couldn't answer him.
I have an MDD module he can have though.
Thinking it through a bit further, I believe the motion sensors are in the courtesy light, is that correct?
If so, and the car is early enough to be prewired, do we think it may be a simple case of swapping the courtesy light unit too?

[ref]Gee-Lanty[/ref], I have the courtesy light unit that came with the car I am breaking, which the MDD came out of. It is a basic one without the map reading lights, but if you think it would work I'll happily send that too so at least you can prove the system.

All you should have to do is turn on that feature of the alarm system in INPA or similar programming software.
