Folks, any idea where the siren is located?

my indicators flash on/off but it's never made a noise, i do have the bonnet sensor etc as well.

is there a siren that should go off too or is it an option extra, i'm assuming if mines broken/missing the wiring is there either way and i can just replace it with

on my car (2005 2.2) it inside the rear wing, behind the drivers side rear wheel, accessed by removing the wheel arch liner

hope this helps

A bit of a highjack, but am I correct in assuming that all E85's (facelift in particular) come with a factory alarm and, secondly, including cabin motion sensors or is the latter an option. I can't see any, and throwing a bag onto the seat with the top down didn't trigger anything.

Also, what's the easiest way to test (i.e. set off) the alarm?

I parked mine outside my mates house with the roof down and his cat jumped in and set off the alarm so I assume that means mine has motion sensors... Thought that would be a standard feature in a vert

So, you're saying the easiest way to test it is to buy a cat... What would I do with it after? And how much are they? :P

Get yourself to an animal shelter you can get a pre owned model for cheap, even free sometimes...

With what to do with it after you probably won't get many ideas on a BMW forum but check out the hyundai or mitsubishi forums I'm sure the Koreans can make some suggestions
