alarm light at mirror not on no flashing when locking car

my alarm light doesnt come on also doesnt flash when locking the car, when the head lights are on and the door opens no tone to tell me to switch off the lights.can any one help or have i got to get robbed at bmw
 
Both of those are coding dependant, the dealer or an independant can activate them for you.

have they ever worked?
 
Although I do not have an alarm, I notice that my "clown nose" will begin to blink slowly after locking the car. It takes about 1-2 minutes before the blinking begins. Is there a delay period (also) for cars with alarms?
 
Not sure if this relevant but I had an issue where the indicators suddently stopped working and other interior lights were not working such as the alarm flash, heater lights. I ended needing a new light control unit - part was about £230. Only problem was the part was on back order from Germany so took a few days to arrive
 
could be just the actual alarm light is nackered?? does the alarm surve its purpose? try accessing the car with the key itself and not via the button to see if the alarm gets activated.
