Hey all

My alarm has been going off a last few nights sometimes it will go all night without going off but last night it was going off every 1-2 hours. CAn anyone suggest what it might be?

Its kept on the street at night an a slight hill, it is a very quiet street as it is a dead end and only about 100yards long. there is not usually an other car round it at night. I have tried to find out what it is and had to go out last night to see if one of the doors was open but no it wasnt. can anyone suggest ways i might find out what it might be? or suggest what it might be?

If i take it to bmw for a diagnostic does anyone know how much it would be? I dont want to have to take it there if i can help it.

any help would be great :(

More likely than not, it'll be the bonnet alarm sensor.

Search for it on this forum and there'll be loads of information.

It's easy and cheap to replace ~£10 from the Dealer.

Deffo the one to change first, solved my problem which started when i was half way acrosss france last year.

Changed it, not a squeal since.

Thanks i will try that first. Did you say it would be about 10 from bmw dealer?
yes, or less :D

cheaper way to diagnose though - just disconnect it (middle of the bonnet under the windscreen). If it stops going off, you know what it is :D

well it went off while i was at work today so went out took the sensor off and it hasn't gone off since woo hoo
