Alarm Flash & Hard Top

Hi All, I'm a Newbie.... I've just changed my 05 Z4 for a gorgeous 03 model with much less mileage and a fab hard top. Just a couple of things I hope someone can help with - the bottom of the interior mirror does not have the usual red flasher when the alarm is on, the bulb is not even there - my local dealer says there is no wiring where one could fit....! My earliest Z4 was a 2004 and it had an alarm flash. Anyone know whether or not this was fitted to the 2003 model.

I've also asked the dealer how the demister works on the hard top as I'm wondering what I should look out for when disconnecting the roof to take it off in the spring - he didn't know. It's possibly a jack plug??

Hi and welcome. I thought all UK Z4's had an alarm so not sure why you don't have a clown nose.

The hardtop demister pics the connections up through the posts I believe so nothing to connect manually.

Oh and ............

Welcome to the forum! The hardtop demister does have connections at the posts - there should be a cable and plug slotting into a connector.

Maybe the mirror has been replaced ? I''d have though the alarm is still there. Sit in the car, lock it, wait for 30-40 secs then wave your arms about - the alarm should go off.

Or, perhaps the light is only there with auto wipers, which does need a wire from the mirror...
