Alarm beeps when locked and hood won't go up with the key

Hi all, as above when locked with the center button my alarm starts to beep about five minutes after locking it (very annoying)

Also my roof and Windows will all go down if the unlock button on the key is held, but the roof won't go up when holding the lock button!

Any ideas anyone?

If its only just started happening check boot ,doors & especially the bonnet are all closed properly ,
If still doing it try disconnecting the contact under the bonnet , its in the centre against the bulkhead

No idea on the roof thingy , mine has a proper one 8)

The Roof probably does only go down with the key

I'm sure it use to go up on my old 2.5...obviously not.

Will try that tomorrow

My alarm starts to beep when I unlock the car with the key in the lock, it seems that the alarm does not cancel out. Also the passenger door does not unlock with the key in the lock. When I use the button on the key everything is ok. :?

Default state is that roof will open with the key fob but not close, you have to put the key in the door-lock to close it, or use the button inside.
BMW won't code the key to raise the roof as they say it is a H&S issue, however an indy can program it to close with the key, but you still have to hold the lock button on the key fob for the whole time.

I had mine programmed by an indy, what a waste of £25, as if you have to stand there holding the fob button, you may as well do it with the key in the door. Better to get the GapTech module,.... 3 clicks of the fob and you walk away whilst it closes.
