alarm and obm

I have a viper alarm system that stops communication with the obm (so bmw say) should i remove the alarm or is there a way around this,
Also my roof alarm goes off,the roof wont open,after the car was left for a month is there any way to check if the motor has got wet and failed.

Regarding the roof I would check your battery is ok (and the tray is down in the boot ) ,think you may have too bite the bullet and take it too bmw or a specialist dealership as its a complex bit of kit
Know nothing about the alarm system but BMW wont want to know if it hasn't been fitted by them, try the company that fitted it
