Alarm Activation Issue

The alarm on my 2004 3.0i has started playing up and keeps activating intermittently for no reason - checked the battery which is reading at 12.5v and also removed the bonnet switch.

Issue persists - any suggestions? Cheers.

Can you put a code reader on to see if its set any fault codes, that might narrow the cause down. The removal of the bonnet switch was a good move, often thats the cause.

Unfortunately I don't have one but my 2.5i is currently in with my independent for an Insp 2 & new front shocks so will ask him to have a look when I pick it up

I use BMW Scanner 1.4 software on a Laptop, it scans all modules on my 2003 2.5 including the Alarm Security module, BMW INPA will also communicate with the module. Not sure what your garage will use and not sure what other code readers people use will read the module. In any event if there is a fault with the system it should have set a code to point you in the right direction to fix it.
