Alarm activated by centre storage compartment?

My alarm has been giving me a bit of hassle over the past few weeks - it has been going off anywhere from 30 seconds up to 5 minutes after I lock the car (which can be a real PITA if I'm parking in the work car park or at the train station). At the most, it will happen twice but then might not happen for a few days. I've checked the alarm sensor under the bonnet which seems to be absolutely fine.

Incidentally, the wee lever which turns out the light in the centre storage compartment has snapped recently. I have been lazy and tried popping small bits of plastic or rolled-up paper in to the switch to keep the light off, although this isn't always entirely successful. I've tried sticking the lever back on this afternoon and I'm currently waiting for it to dry before trying it. I was just wondering, could the alarm be being triggered by the switch in the storage compartment (as if the alarm thought the door had been opened) or is this not covered by the alarm?

The car is going to go in to the dealers on Thursday to have the alarm checked (last two months of AUC warranty - might as well make the most of it!) and if gluing the lever back on doesn't work, I'm going to use a screw in its place. Was just wondering in the meantime.

The center storage actually locks when you lock your car (you cant push in the unlock button)..... so not sure if there is a sensor in there, or something is wrong with the locking mechanism which is triggering your alarm.

Sounds a similar problem to mine! It turned out to be the main interior module for me, which coupled with a faulty siren set me back £460!
Get it sorted under warrently ASAP if I were you!

Nope - turns out it's the tilt sensor that's gone. Thankfully getting replaced under AUC next Friday.

Glad to hear you're getting it sorted
My alarm gave me endless annoyance until I finally decided to cough up and get it fixed. The tilt sensor is actually part of the siren module, which was also faulty on mine. So I basically had to have the whole system replaced

Im having the same problem. Luckily I am still under warranty so will get someone to check it out. :)
