Aircon Punctured :(

So sometime in the last three weeks a rock has gone through my grill and punctured the aircon compresser

Took it to trusted local garage to get a recharge (which is when they found the issue), was originally about £240 to fix but they messed up the estimation and which parts were actually needed and now its coming closer to £400-500 :headbang:

Damn the days getting hotter meaning I can prolong getting this one fixed

True! Car has been getting a bit hot even in the worse weather though which is the annoying thing No aircon sucks!

Total cost inc parts and labour is coming in at £400 - £500 or that's how I am understanding it.

I hate to be pedantic but......
It will the air con condenser that was punctured,its like a high pressure radiator.

This happened to my mums Ford ka the other year

I can't remember how much that cost though

I had similar damage to a previous car so when i bought my Z4 I've fitted a 550mm by 500mm steel mesh in front of the air con condenser, it just slots into the space in front of the Condenser. I also sprayed it with zinc paint to stop rust. I've not heard of anyone else doing this but have heard of numerous rads getting punctured because of the size of the gaps in the front grill.
