Airbag warning light 93AA Passenger Pretensioner

Hi, Moving the passenger seat around has kicked off the air bag warning light in the dash. After reading up it seems like it needs INPA to clear this, and also to diagnose the cause of the fault. The helpful PO thinks it’s the passenger seat belt pretensioner sensor. Is anyone on the forum near Redditch/Droitwich/Worcester area, that maybe could help me diagnose and clear the code? Happy to pay for this of course, Thanks Adam

Loose or dirty connections under the seat are usual cause of light comming on, you will need a code reader capable of reading the airbag module to see exactly what has triggered it. INPA will do it but you need a laptop, cheapest option would be to arm yourself witha decent hand held code reader a Creator +310 will do what you want for decent outlay, bonus being you will have it to hand for any future needs.

The latter is listed as a UK seller but details show China seller so beware of delivery time and possible customs charges.

If I was near you would have done it for you with my laptop kit after lockdown ends but a bit far away these days, originally from Malvern and schooled in Worcester.

Super helpful, thank you. I did not know that Creator could clear the airbag light, thought I had to go for something more advanced. For that price it's a no-brainer for me - as I have a old E53 X5 as well - so I think can use it on that also.

Malvern & Worcester a lovely spot, we are in Feckenham about 45mins away from there - looking forward to getting back to the Malverns for a pint and a walk with the dogs once lockdown is over, Cheers Adam

Quick update fixed this today had the 93AA code

Took seat out following the instructions on the forum, split out the air bag connector, cleaned connections best I could with a glass fibre pen. I checked the pretensioner circuit had resistance (YouTube video helped with that). All looked fine.

Re-assembled connector and reinstalled the seat, cleared the airbag fault code with the Creator 310, and great result the fault was cleared.
