Airbag modules

Hi,

I'd like to ask if there are three seperate airbag modules in a 2003 z4?

After getting my window regulator in the passenger door replaced the airbag light on the dash has been on. The garage was confused when the tried to clear it as there were no error codes coming up.

They came back to me and said their code reader only reads one module but there are three modules in the car. So they are going to borrow another garages reader that can read all three and clear it for me.

Does this ring true?

I wouldnt have thought so...

The airbags are controlled by the SRS module... I have never heard of a BMW having more than one...
 
I thought that was the case. :/ I might phone bmw tomorrow and ask. I see that there is an issue with the airbag light coming on with the z4s. Hopefully this magically code reader will clear it.

There are 3 in fact, the main unit under the centre console, and a satellite unit by each door than manages side impact scenarios.
