Hi all

Does anyone have an airbag light reset that I could use, I took my steering wheel off today to cure a clicking noise and my airbag light is on now... I am in the Staffordshire area but travelling down to St Albans tomorrow if anyone can help?

Many thanks

Russ

Thanks for the offer of help, I took it to my indy this morning and they have run the software and the only fault found was "airbag warning light, faulty lamp" ? Does anyone know what this could be if the warning light is working?

Thanks in advance..

I'd probably check the airbag connection to make sure it's plugged in properly. Could the indy not reset the light?

No the light would not reset but the software found no other problems with the system, I shall have to take the wheel back off and check all connections, it just seems strange that the software could only see a lamp fault?

Does he have a specific bmw diagnostic system though? You may need someone with the correct software to reset it or to see anything else the module may have stored .

Sorry ignore me should have read all the thread

Ok all sorted, thanks to everyone that offered to help, I have cured the problem of the steering click, dismantled the clock ring and indicators and there was a piece if plastic that protrudes that just needed greasing, I found a BMW specialist close by that had the right software and has reset the light...

Why did the airbag warning light come on? Because like a prat I was rushing and never disconnected the battery before taking the steering wheel off
