Airbag light

Hi everyone I bought my e85 2 months ago and it came with the airbag light already on, I have a c110 scanner that will get rid of the light but as soon as I turn on the ignition it comes back on, The code says it’s —9869 Short circuit, firing circuit, thorax airbag, rear left (E85, E60, E61), or knee airbag, front left (E63, E64), to positive — now I know in the past it has had a wet floor due to blocked drains so from forum and Facebook research my suspicions is the b pillar module is at fault, however in the last week on 3 separate occasions I have started the car and the airbag light has gone out only to come back on the next time I start it,so could it be something else? I have had the seat out and checked the wiring and plugs for corrosion and they all looked ok and the b pillar module looks ok too, anyone have any ideas

I’m not 100% sure on this one

A failed module (satellite) once gone is gone I’ve not seen them show intermittent faults

However intermittent faults I have seen are due to poor connections

As much a ball ache as it is I would disconnect and clean/check all connections. The module, the airbags (dash as well) and all door connections

Get some contact cleaner and of course be aware of disconnecting the battery safely first

The airbag light is a feature of these BMW,s. Its there to give a nice red glow to the cabin and to remind you BMW cares by wrapping you in soft explosive devices.
