Airbag light solved

As some of you may or may not know i have a water leak from the passenger side roof drain hole awhile back, this caused a lot and i mean a lot of water under the passenger seat. I removed seat and pulled back carpet, then sponged out a quarter of a bucket of water before getting a heating in the car to dry it out. This was all triggered by the airbag light coming on, first of all i thought it was the seat occupancy sensor till i put my hand on the carpet.

Used DIS v57 to clear code but wouldn't go, so removed seat and realised that airbag module SBSL is located under carpet on cill below seat belt area, there was water marks all over it, ordered a new one from bmw at £200 !!! Fitted and tried to clear fault but no joy. Finally tonight i resolved my bmw software from BMTechnics with change.iso to allow retrofit and software updates via SSS v32 to work, had to code module to car and airbag light went out.

ALL SORTED....

I think I may have a similar problem with my Z4, does anyone have any pictures showing the exact location? If it ever stops raining I'll get the seat out And have a look.

It did but sorted it out months ago, the unit required coding to the car which I did myself and all sorted now.
