My airbag warning light has just come on, in my 2003 plate.
Unfortunately, the car ended up in flooded water earlier this year, and was in Sytner Leicester's for approx 2 months - needed a reconditioned engine and new passenger side xenon headlight system (flood water in the xenon headlights 'ignition box').
I am now concerned that this airbag warning light may have something to do with it - I am not very savvy about car mechanics - could someone please advise me whether flooded water could affect this 'passenger seat sensor or mat' that people have been mentioning on this thread?? To clarify, no flooded water actually entered the cabin, but it was in water upto the level of mid-alloys (hence the need for new xenon light and engine).
It also needs an Inspection I now, so hopefully will kill two birds with one stone, and they can check whether this could be flood water related? I am not keen to take it back to Sytners because the Xenon headlight problem was detected after I picked it up and took it to an independent garage; so they may just fob me off and say it is nothing to do with the previous flood water problem.
Any advice would be welcome, thanks!
