Airbag Light, engine management light - rain damaged car?

I have just brought a 2004 Z4 and when picked up it had a flat battery. I have charged the battery now and car runs fine but has a few issues. The airbag and engine management light are on. Also the roof opens but wont go back, the central locking off the remote is intermittent, all the rear lights work correctly but only indicators and side lights work at the front. I have found out from previous owner that the roof had been left open during a down pour.
Someone has mentioned "transport mode" but I'm not sure, ideas? What do I need to do to fix this?

The airbag control unit is most likely knackered if its been rained on - it sits under the coin holder at the back of the centre console. When mine got wet and ruined I had all sorts of electrical issues but mainly the instrument Binnacle not working :headbang: :headbang:

Sound about right, there are no light on the instrument panel apart from airbag although after a check they all work - lights, indicators, etc. don't show up and indicators do make a noise when on.

Ditto - my airbag unit hadn't been rained on as far as I know but the module failed and took out the while k-bus system knocking out the instrument cluster, lights, indicators, roof, locking, windows etc etc.

I've seen reports of it happening to coupes so either the water can get in another way or its possible for the failure to just happen on its own too.

You need to get the codes read for the air bag issue.

There are 3 airbag control boxes, most likely one of the side ones is knackered. The floor underlay gets soaked and the air bag box is under it, so will need replacing. Rubbish design - standard.

I have a set of them, bar one side box (cant remember which one tho !) but they have different part numbers, and will need coding to the new box. They are hundreds from the dealer !
