Airbag light came on :(

So verdict is in. Cars not covered undr warranty as its mechanical issue with window regulator not electrical. Airbag light is the passenger seat sensor. Looking at £231 for the window and no price on the seat pad as of yet ? Sound about right ? How easy is the window to fix yourself ? Im pretty handy with things like this.
 
Im looking into the bypass things on ebay. Will these simply plug and play on my 2006 sport seats or do i need the prefacelift black box thing ?
 
Sorry to hear the grief you're having with the window and air bag light. I'm Surprised that it's the passenger seat sensor as your fault came about after removing your door loom whilst battery was still connected.
Did you give the car to a good Indy or dealer ?
I am surprised that members from your area haven't picked up on your thread as yet, there is a serious amount of knowledge held by the senior members on here.
I keep mentioning a good indy as they are generally very helpful and don't have the overheads of main dealers so are more empathetic to your situation.
If you're confident with the garage you have gone to and they are BMW experienced then that's great and hopefully this will be the end of your troubles. :thumbsup:
 
Replacing the window regulator is straightforward enough just a bit of a fiddle at times but nothing that cant be sorted at home. I dont know how hard it is to repair a regulator I am affriad I just replaced the whole thing.

thanks, these things happen though i guess. Well they said it had reported two fault codes. One being the door loom which they cleared and the other the seat sensor. Im going to take it somewhere else first and ask them to clear the code for the seat sensor as i have read it may be the wires underneath getting moved about a bit?? I had to use the garage that was approved by my warranty company (which didnt work out anyway) but will be taking it to a friend of mines garage later this week for a real diagnosis on the airbag light.

the cables and the software are a lifesaver, fixed my airbag with it plus last week i had to reset every system on the car after letting the battery go stupidly flat. easy to run when you figure out how to install the software and very little chance of doing any damage. plenty of guys on here would be able to talk you through it.
