Airbag light after seat swap

Swapped my standard manual sport seats in my 2.2 2004 for electric e46 seats about 2 weeks ago and have the errors below.
Cleared the error memory using dis and inpa with no luck.

I'll be swapping the seat buckles with the old seats in a couple weeks to see if that does the trick but if these errors are to be expected then I'll look into the bypass guides.

Definitely change buckles and may be the passager seat occupancy sensor playing up get yourself a bypass kit off Ebay

I made my own bypass for my R50 Mini. I’m sure the resistor would be the same for the BM. Maybe worth looking into? Resistors cost a few pence. The bypass would be much more.

silly question but you did plug in the cable off the pre-tentioner into the yellow plug under the seat?

Had a look on ebay bypass kits seem to range from £15-40. So will definitely try the resistor out first if need be

Installed the seats with the original buckles so assumed it was all hooked up. Will have a butcher when I swap over the old pre-tensioner. Thanks for the help all!

I had a light on when putting E46 seats in - I used the E46 pre-tensioners which came with the seats but another helpful member told me they weren't compatible and the original Zed ones needed to be swapped over.

Abandoned my seats in the end as they're damn uncomfortable :) but try swapping over the pretensioners and clearing the light again in Inpa.

Glad to hear that! I will be swapping the pre tensioners over as the z4 buckles feel smoother anyway.

I'm loving the e46 seats compared to the standard z4 ones. No more back aches on long drives!

An update if anyone comes across the same issue. Swapping the e46 pre tensioners for the original seat pre tensioners gets rid of the light.

Good to know as I'll be picking up a set of these seats tomorrow.
