Airbag Lamp IKE Error with no SRS Error

Hi,

I had my SRS light come on a week or two ago on a normal trip in the car (2004 2.2 E85). After scanning with a Scanner 1.4 and P.A Soft, I found one error code under “IKE; Instrument Cluster Electronics” that reads as “Airbag Lamp”.

I have tried clearing this a few times and it never turns off, even though when I rescan it shows no code (I have to turn the ignition off and back on to read the code again). I have looked (and scanned many times!) in SRS and nothing comes up..?

Any ideas would really be appreciated!

Totally forgot about this post, but I (actually my local tec) managed to find the solution and wanted to share it in case anyone else is having the same issue.

The cause was a build-up of water in the windscreen drain - this caused water ingress into (if I remember correctly) the passenger side of the car, which is where the airbag control unit is housed. They cleared the drain with a drain rod and that fixed the issue.

Hope this helps anyone with the same issue!

That code simply tells you that the airbag lamp is lit, probably included in the software in case the actual bulb was blown or removed by a previous owner to get rid of it. Your water leak obviiosly got into the module behind the glovebox and shorted the lamps connection hence it being lit up. You got lucky with this fault its usually the main or satellite modules that surcumb to water intrusion and those do set specific fault codes.
