airbag fault code

Afternoon everyone,
I wonder if anyone on here could help me interpret a fault code i've just read.its on a 2.5i 03plate
It shows;
38 control unit fault swinging voltage test
the airbag light is on i tried resetting but it won't,obviously i should try and understand what the problem is but thought i'd try the reset(in the vain hope it would reset and save me money :D )
anyways any help would be appreciated.

Just a guess, it's not happy with voltage fluctuations it's getting during some sort of power up test?

How's your battery health?
 
hi thanks for the reply,
i tried resetting with a b800 scan and reset tool.
i know these aren't the most reliable units so think i'll get it checked properly not even sure if i've read it correctly.
it was worth a try i suppose
the battery is supposed to be new but think i'll get it checked also.
 
Most scanners won't clear air bag lights, really need to get it done with DIS v57, someone on here who lives near you may help
