Airbag control modules- help needed

9888 on the LHS control unit looks like it may be an issue- if I replace this do I need to recode? I have spares
Stuart, is this a fault on one of the units I sent to Tony?
If so, tell him to contact me please.

no bud- your central one did the job perfectly and was easy to code

I haven't changed the side ones yet

Ah I see, I thought you were changing the set. Perhaps you will be

Right back to where we started

I can't get rid of the 93AC fault which google and other sources just tell me is passenger airbag

Have discounted the bag being faulty by swapping them out
Have now successfully recoded 2/3 modules and got the timing in place

Any ideas?

[ref]bigwinn[/ref], are you looking at the correct airbag?
Does it mean passenger door, or passenger dash?

google doesn’t help at all with that sadly

But I’ve no reason to think it’s dash

Had another go at the Z4 airbag light today, matching main module part number put in from a known code free car.
Used the Launch scanner coding tablet to code the Vin number in but it failed to do it. Read the codes using INPA and that came back with 93DB Step up convertor defective and 93AB Incorrect Chassis number.
Codes cleared but return and airbag light remains lit up dosn't go out at all.
Did have a play with NCS Expert and Winkfp but couldn't get either to do anything with the module.
Run out of ideas now on what is exactly wrong to prevent the Vin number change. This is the second car thats presented these problems and so far I have drawn a blank trying to sort this problem. Have read all the posts on here as to how to change the Vin but nothing works for me. Suggestions welcome.

Suspect the left module is duff. Base of the b pillar under the carpet. Get the number off it and let us know. We can point you to the compatible replacement numbers.
Then need to code it all

That doesn’t compute?
The number you gave is for a facelift centre module but you say you have a 2.2 which were only prefacelift?
