Hi

My car soft scanner revealed a faulty B pillar airbag module, part number 65.77 6945157.
I've tried to locate one In the UK so I can clone mine, no joy.
Does anyone have a spare or know somewhere I can try and get one?

Can a reset by a reputable company clear the faulty module, or does it need to be replaced?

Thanks

These are the units you can substitute with

The good news is yours isn’t in the super rare category

Ebay has this one:
Of course there are no guarantees it'll be a good one. I'd advise getting some form of returns agreement if you are able to prove it is faulty.

The satellite modules cannot be repaired. So you need to replace it.
Not sure what you mean by 'clone'?
You basically fit a replacement then code it using WinKFP, NCS Expert, Tool32 and INPA, which will give it the latest version of the software.
So in your case, regardless of which compatible module you fit, it will end up as effectively a '4366'.

Thanks for your help. I've ordered a K-Dcan cable and have downloaded the INPA software, hopefully arriving before this weekend. I will check the error and will have to learn how to use the software to code. I see there are plenty of videos on youtube.
Can you recommend any good videos for this task? Thanks

I haven’t seen any videos I’m afraid so can’t recommend any. I’m self-taught after reading up on the various threads on this forum including one from a few years back by TomR I think, who did quite a useful guide.

Great. I've looked up Tomr and seen some useful posts. Will be trying it out this weekend if the cable arrives in time.
My mot is not due to next Jan, but I'd like to solve the issue asap. Thanks again. I'll report back when I've got some more info.

Update on Passenger B Pillar fault...

I installed the INPA software and read current faults on Passenger B pillar module. Cleared them and they still pop up when i turn the ignition back on.

952B Short circuit or open circuit high-side switch ZK2

952F Short circuit or open circuit high-side switch ZK4

9853 Short circuit ZK2 (E85: Front airbag left stage 2 / E6x: Active headrest right) to positive

9869 Short circuit to positive, ZK4 (E85: left side airbag / E60, E61: rear left thorax airbag / E63, E64: front left knee airbag.

I was also getting a BST battery short circuit on the right hand B pillar. I bought a 2nd hand BST cable, arrived today, fitted and it cleared the BST fault.
I presume the Passenger B pillar module is still faulty as the codes have not cleared after changing the BST cable.

The ebay link you sent me for the replacement module is a drivers side module. Does this matter?

Thanks

It’s wrongly listed. Yellow insert is SBSL, green is SBSR

I presume when I get the replacement module, I plug it in and the faults should clear, leaving just to code the Vehicles Vin, hoping the module works. I will of course disconnect and reconnect the battery

It may show some random codes at first.
Code in the VIN and then it will say the System Time is wrong, so you need to do that too.
All three modules send check messages to each other, so by the time you've finished the SIM85 and SBSR will have 'Timeout' codes set. Simply clear those.

I've replaced the module and only 1 error code now shows up which is a good sign. It's to do with the coding of the module. I'm going through the instructions from Tomr. The 1st problem I have is I can't find the ZUSB number. I've opened INPA, gone to E85, can't find functional jobs. I've got INPA version 1.010, is this right? I've attached 3 screen shots, if you can please help.
Thanks

Use the alternative method. In WinKFP select SBL264 and then the part number ending 8087. Don't worry if this isn't correct, it will work it out for itself and tell you what part number it is going to code the module to.

Thanks but cannot find sbl264. In comfort mode, I can enter ZUSB, choose or update. When I click on choose or update, nothing comes up. In expert mode, I can't find sbl264.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Could you possibly talk me through it?
Thanks

Maybe, I thought I might be missing something. I downloaded Mike's BMW inpa. Maybe best to try and find another version. I'll have a look around and let you know. Thanks
