Air filter change

When I did my oil and filter change I was going to change the air filter also. However I struggled getting the air filter out. I unscrewed the thee screws at the front as well as.undoing all the clips. However the unit wouldn't come out easily. I gave up as didn't want to do any damage and googled it but didn't find much and what I did find it seemed easy to take the box out.
Am I missing something? It seemed to be held at the bottom, and bottom right is some sort of hinge or placement?
Car is a 2009 E89 2.3

Box held in by a rubber grommet on its base, once top screws are out pull box upwards to get it out. Put a bit of silicon on it to get it to slip back in.

I'm surprised that nobody has shared their experience in what I think is probably a basic service element (not for me haha) as many would do themselves?

The N20 and N54 air boxes are very very straight forward..filter even lies horizontally..apart from a tendency for one of those over centre clips to ping off and dissapear into the bottom of the engine bay..not that it ever happened to me..of course..
