Air filter box/pipe question.....

well last night i thought id go over my cousins barn/workshop and get a load of small jobs done that i cant do in the dark on my drive....

1st up was a quick air filter change... upon taking the top off i noticed the box was a little loose/wobbly, so could somebody clarify if this hole in the bottom should have a fixing in it, or if its used for some type of drainage? (if its a fixing then ill need to source a replacement bracket/fixing)



then after a quick blow out and hoover and replacing of filter, i noticed that the pipe attached was broken, so ive temporarily glued it as best i can but ideally want it replaced, am i better off just getting a replacement pipe or should i just upgrade the whole box/filter while im at it rather than waste my money on stock OEM stuff?



i also tried fitting fang protectors but didnt have any screws to suit (i dont have //M corners so cant just screw in) :thumbsdown:
wanted to fit 1st aid boxes but ran out of time :thumbsdown:

but i did also fit all new LED interior lights :thumbsup:
and repaired a broken lug on my headlight :thumbsup: ..... but discovered about half a liter of water in headlight as there's a massive hole i need to fix :headbang: (where lug broke off) but this will all be photographed and documented when i repair it and another thread

That's a drainage hole - however, if you look at this thread you'll see that exdos mentions advantages to plugging the hole
 
ahhh ok, makes sense, dont think plugging it on my 2.0 is worth it but at least i know! i have another photo of what looks like some kind of support/bracket that sits under here as like i said, my whole box seems to only be connected from 2 points at the top and thats it so its pretty loose :/ or is this normal?
