Ok - so i've just re-gassed my air conditioning and now its "cold as ice" - also bought a cleaner for it (which basically involved letting off an aerosol in the car and putting the a/c on recirculate!
It really was quite easy although the instructions on the gas I bought were pants and I needed 3 hands (one to shake, one to press and one to twist!) - as for the pressure I had read peoples concerns about this issue so I went for half way between the cans suggested needs regassing and omg its gonna blow!!So bang in the middle of the suggested pressure (I couldn't actually find a reference to the BMW recommended pressure)
I don't know how much people charge for this but if its a lot more than the £40 I paid for my gas and cleaner I would have a go myself every time
