So I bring the car into the dealer (under an extended warranty) for the a/c making noises and when it does so puts a huge power drain on the engine and the a/c not blowing cold air. Based off various peoples opinions they figure the compressor/clutch is going bad. I have serviced it with a can of coolant to where it's supposed to be and the a/c worked great for a while. For this occasion for like 3 days no matter time of day/temp of engine and whatnot the a/c doesn't run right period. Of course when I bring it to the dealer it works perfectly. I cycled it on and off a few dozen times so the dealer would have something to fix, nope worked as advertised. The mechanic said it probably is the compressor getting ready to go out it just hasn't fully kicked the bucket yet.
The a/c still does the sound intermittenly and I want the F'n thing changed (this kind of heat I need a reliable system), but don't want to pay another 50-70 bucks so they can tell me it's good and not change a damn thing.
So does anyone know a way I can speed up the failure of the part?
Every time I hear the noise I've been revving the engine in hopes the added stress will break it.....hasn't happened yet.
