Air bag warning light

OK first the window regulator yesterday and before I even had a chance to think about taking the door panel off the airbag light came on today. I just got some new tyres fitted, paid, started the car and drove off from the garage to notice my airbag light on. I know this can only be dealer reset but how do I get to the bottom of why it went off in the first place?

I put my car in for mot a few months ago. Picked car up and noticed the airbag light was on. Took it back to the garage and they told me that this sometimes happenes if someone kneels on one of the front seats?? Anyway they plugged it in and reset it and its been ok since.

Think the sensor mat within the seat can be damaged by concentrated heavy loads like knees.

When you go to the dealer for it to be reset they will tell you exactly which part of the circuit or airbag caused it.

It could be any one of the airbags, harnesses or module. Even as stated kneeling on the passenger seat, or connected to the window mechanism and that harness.

BTW remember the system is inactive until the light is reset so you have no airbags working

OK cheers for the feedback guys. I guess its just bad timing with the window regulator and this the day after each other not to mention the cost of new tyres. Oh the joys of owning cars!
