Some of you may be aware that I've had my seats re-upholstered. I'm really pleased with them but can you spot the error?

Cutting to the chase -the seat backs were on the wrong seats. The seat belt carrier is on the inside of the seat when it should be on the outside.
Got in touch with the upholsterer and they offered to swap the backs over to the right seats. Went up there, explained to the guy that he'd have to disconnect the battery before unplugging the seat connector, but he gave me a knowing smile as if to say it wouldn't be a problem. I assumed he'd have a code reader or something.
Anyway, surprise surprise, I have the airbag warning light on. I can't be bothered to go back (2 hour round trip) so I'm going to sort it myself.
Most searches on here are for situations where the root cause of the airbag light error is not known, but I know the cause. Is it time to invest in a Creator C310+ code reader? Will this little gizmo clear the fault?
