Air Bag Warning Light (multiple restraints System - MRS)

Just had the Z4 throw an error code today- air bag warning light flashed on, read ODB code (front passenger seat occupancy sensor mat (93C2))

Will not reset, no one ever sits in the seat, checked and cleaned all connections and tried numerous resets

On getting out my laptop (INSTA), it seems that I have a faulty passenger seat occupancy sensor mat. I see that it has been common on other BMW, not so much on the E89. Has any one got any ideas, is it another seat or replace sensor (pull seat apart). I have seen that it can be programmed out and the airbag is always active.

6mths ago, I did fit cruise control, could this be an issue ?

The Seat Occupancy Sensor never changes state.

Ordered a seat pad/seat belt emulator to quickly resolve issues, did not fancy £200 sensor, plus dismantling the seat.

This morning checked, error still present, spent an hour cleaning the check valves. Used ISTA, error still present was not showing on dash, full reset, no longer there....lol

Hopefully I now have a spare emulator....lol

Check your carpets not wet under the seat, when mine got wet it chucked up the same error I think. Dried out fixed water leak cleared and jobs a good un.
