Air bag light

Hello again. I’ve got a 2007 2.0 M sport with an annoying air bag light on. I scanned the codes and it came up as a seat occupancy mat issue. I didn’t really fancy fitting a new mat with all the work that involves so bought a cheap by pass item that plugs into the air bag sensor under the passenger seat . The problem is when I removed the seat there is no sensor that I can see so I’m wondering if it could be placed somewhere else or am I just missing it because it’s tucked away in the foam somewhere? Thanks for any assistance.

Grey wire is occupancy sensor wiring. They are different on the pre lci and I suspect you have bought an emulator for an earlier model.

Thanks. After reading up a bit more I realise that the facelift model 2006 to 2008 use a different type of bypass connector which I’ve now ordered. Hopefully that will work. Thanks for your advice 👍

The sensor on my car is under the sill, behind the carpet, it got water logged and blew the unit

Facelift have a different system. A single ASCM module behind the handbrake and small sensors either side that very, very rarely go wrong.
