Air bag light...

Hi all. Just a quicky.

In a nut shell I damaged my door so replaced it with a new one. Swapped all the gubbings over from mine to the new the replacement door and bam... Airbag light on.

Tried clearing the codes (cheap eBay code reader) but the airbag light doesn't come up! I think it only shows engine codes not all the electronics etc.

Is it likely a memory clearing issue or a connection issue?

Thanks in advance.

Lee.

i feel your pain - those annoying lights on the dashboard really bug my OCD!

generic code readers don't clear airbag lights - they only store basic engine codes.

You can go to most garages they they should be able to clear - or you can get basic airbag code readers off ebay.

FYI - whenever working on your seats, steering wheel, door cards etc best plug the battery first and this avoids airbag issues!

That one wouldn't clear my airbag light - many other Z4 owners complaining that it doesn't work for them too, though strangely also some people who did have success.

Used INPA to clear my light - not too bad to install and just requires a £12 lead.
