Air bag light on after fitting mfs wheel

Help needed!!
So I fitted my new m sport MF steering wheel
I was waiting for the retro fit cable
Fitted the wheel
Disconnected the battery
Fitted all good
No lights on
Drove for a week
Fitted the 2 piece cable for the mfsw all OK
All works
Then this morning
The airbag light comes on????
Any help welcome
 
Need to run diagnostics, may be a complete coincidence... and another fault somewhere. Although this is unlikely, it’s strange it’s taken so long to come on.

Find out what the car thinks is wrong, then you can fix :thumbsup:
 
the crimps to add the new cables behind the light switch were tight but all in and controls on steering wheel work ok???
could it be something to do with adding the 2 cables ???
i didn't disconnect the battery for that part!
 
Wouldn't have thought so, the cables will be for stereo? And although near the airbag shouldn't be linked to it. Maybe one the clips for the airbag have popped out?

If you don't have a diagnostic tool, disconnect the battery and have a double check the airbag is connected properly. Having said that, even if you connect it back up (assuming this is the problem) you'll still have the airbag light on, as the fault will be stored until properly reset.
