Ahem! :D

For what it's worth, I wouldn't bother with the Intravee. I find the sound quality awful, and the interface slow and clunky.

Sound quality is absolutely fine. Interface a little clunky but looks oem and you get used to it with long key and short key press shortcuts that can be set up. Download instruction manual, it's huge but helps work it all out.

If your sound quality is awful there is a problem with your set up. With the firmware up to date and a decent understanding of the controls, the interface isn't too bad at all. Not the best but not as bad as you make out.

Perhaps it's just mine then, because the sound quality is definitely not on a par with CDs. Perhaps I'm just a bit more sensitive to sound quality? I can't imagine mine is on anything less than the most recent firmware, and it's definitely slow and clunky, and limited to boot.

Which speaker system do you have?

Are there any other options which guarantee better sound?

The compressed files on the iPod aren't going to be of the same quality of the CD but the difference is small and not enough to describe the Intravee's sound quality as awful. Seriously, if you do find it that bad there must be a problem with your installation. I've had mine for over 5 years and done plenty of reading on the Intravee. Your the first I've seen to find the sound quality that poor.

Perhaps I'm being unfair to the Intravee then, and it's the fault of the iPhone with rubbish MP3 quality. Either way, the quality is worse, so it's worth noting.

Spud, I have the DSP Hifi, so the top system.

I'm not with you here, are you saying the Intravee isn't worth having or any device that allows you to play an iPod/iPhone through the cars speakers isn't worth having? Sorry for being persistent but your verdict on the Intravee was very damning.

OK, thanks for that.

My train arrives into Stevenage at 2pm on Thursday. Collection shortly thereafter :trampoline: :driving: :crazydude:

I'm agreeing with you that it's likely just the MP3 quality affecting sound quality, but I'm also saying the interface is clunky and slow. In short, you were right.

Sounds about right, yeah. I was just getting back in Doncaster and desperate for fuel! Went for 97 at Sainsburys and then to Armthorpe and then Hatfield to show the car to a couple of people from work. Any excuse to drive about :D
