ah...the Z4 "SPORT" Button

As a new Z4 owner, I have to agree with you about the sports button. Me and my wife were out on a sedate drive and she said ' What does the sports button do' Lets see, OMG what a beast!! :D
Nice to have it..if needed

Love that plate - though on any other car I'd think you were bored & sleepy :D

Shame on me,I hardly ever use the sport button as I keep forgetting it's there, it's not as if I just cruise about I do like to make my zed sing as I do like the noise it makes with the sound generator mod. :D

Maybe Black-z4 could mock up a super sized sport button painted in bright red for you! :D

Entertaining intro post there Black-Z4 and some slick photo shopping.

Welcome to the best forum around. :D

hmmmmm... let's maybe see about helping Peter out here then...

Maybe adding a visor-installed laser light to the mirrored background of the button itself?

...and with a 2006 "Zed" 3.0i, I am only a bit disappointed to inform everyone that I DO NOT HAVE a Sound Generator to modify. NOT! How did I get THAT lucky? I am already looking to see how I might purchase the requisite parts to then make the modification so that my Zed can rumble when my BEAST MODE is selected!

Either I add the Sound Generator to my glaringly absent 2006 3.0i, or I will opt for a clothes pin and a playing card that I will mount to my wheel well such that it makes the awesomely commanding clicking sound as each rib of my wheel spokes fiercely rotate by. Trust me, I know how to do this! I have done it before on my bicycle when I was 6 years old, and it impressed the girls in the neighborhood so much that I got FREE bubble-gum anytime I wanted! I can do it again too! Who doesn't love the FREE Bubble-Gum? Really, WHO?

I can supply a drawing for this mod if desired. It is freaking AWESOME!

Great thread. Used the sport button a couple of times but not found a massive difference on my ///M. She seems quick either way.

I know, this is probably in the wrong thread here and should instead be in the Sound Generator thread probably, but THIS is the mod I was speaking of earlier. I plan to detail this in its own thread later for those of you that might want to try this mod yourself on your own Zed. You may laugh, but when our Zeds pass people on the highway, MINE will be the one with the chicks in it! :D :D :D

I showed this to Jeremy Clarkson and he gave it a totally big  Just sayin....

Love it :D
I'm guessing your ICE will be blasting out Motorhead's 'the ace of spades' whilst crusing along ?

This is true... I had a 2.5si and the sport button made a great difference when switched on. The engine note changes and revcounter goes up, ride becomes taut as the shocks lower the car... gear changes also sharper.

On my M, it doesn’t seem to change things much...? Or is this just me?

On my previous 2010 Carrera S cabrio, switching on the Sport button lights the cat’s tail on fire!!!

It's just throttle response that changes with it on the M. If you already have a very sharp throttle in normal mode, due to how it adapts, it can make the Sport button feel redundant.

Very happy to leave my button unpressed. ///M is just perfect as is. :D Fun thread from beginning to end though.

Think the button should have a couple of pound signs on it for the extra you spend on fuel in sport mode but I still love it :D
