I have no doubt this is a dum question...

I have an AGM battery in my M140i. I am giving it a charge with a batery charger on which I need to select either GEL or STD.

Am I correct in selecting GEL for an AGM battery ?

Cheers Stuart,

While I'm on...when I pulled the battery out of its car a little plastic plug thing (attached to a cable that goes off somewhere into the car boot) pulled out of the top left of the battery. I think it pulled out of a small hole my 5mm diamater on the top left hand side of the battery. The end of that plug is a bit damp.

Any idea what that is..and OK to just plug it back on when I refit the battery ?

Yes just push it back in it’s the vent for any gasses that are produced in the battery it will direct them outside the car.
