Aghhh headlights!!

After finally getting round to upgrading the headlights ive come up with a slight problem!!

Upgraded the orange halogen to super super bright white H7's and also decided to upgrade the sidelights to 501's LEDs

However earlier when i fitted there was no problems but now after taking it for a night time test out like the big kid that i am..

Found out that when just side lights are on.. So are the indicator lights and was just wondering how the hell to fix it ha!

Oh and the light fault is on the dash.. And the indicators do go off when i put dipped on.. HELP!!!

sound like the led 501s are causing the problems, try putting your old ones back in & see if it fixes it first
 
Try replacing the LED sidelights with the originals and see if it goes back to normal. If your LEDs don't have added resistors, the car thinks the bulbs are gone as it's not drawing enough current, and I think I'm right in saying (someone will put me right if not) that it then uses the other lights to compensate - hence the indicators coming on.

Exactly what i thought would be the problem!! Ill just buy them off ebay instead tho!! Are they the same for the fog lights aswell?

Had the same issue with front side LEDs. They are on but not drawing enough current. Have tried a number of them, including Canbus which get too hot then snap when they blow (complete PITA to get out). Went for blue standard in the end, but am looking at parallel resistors to stop the current draw when I put some LEDs in

You may also notice that the LED are on but dim when lights are off - this is due to the light failure warning system checking that the bulb hasn't failed. Not enough current draw, then the system logs a failed light, even if the light is fine.

If the failure is on a sidelight, then the indicator will come on. Put the main lights on and the indicator will go off.
