Just catching up on the weekends news online i come across a story i would have expected on april the 1st . but in reality this just has no funny side :(

why stop there ? the range has infinite possibilities for expansion ,

Why not a weekend in a big city set ? minimally clothed halfwits throwing up & scrapping with the police & ambulance staff :cry:
 
In fairness, whist at first glance it is quite shocking, Lego have done a bank robbers set for years. However they do it alongside a police meat wagon or similar... the mistake Playmobile have made is including the gun.

All that said, when I was a kid I had a cavalry and Indians Playmobile set, had loads of guns in it.

Chrome Pole for kids though... Hmmmm. Not sure about that.
 
That cash machine one looks educational.....might get one and study it in depth!

I agree, not a lot different to cap guns I had as a nipper, incredibly ignorant of me, but I guess they're banned now too.

I had a playmobile rally car...looked a bit like an allegro.
 
Playmobile & lego when i was a user of them meant using your imagination to create things , , , , , , , , :wink:
 
I'm not sure of the issue here, as a kid I had cap guns and BB guns from a very small age, having shoot outs in the street. Playing 18 rated games from 11 onwards.

And yet I've not shot anyone, robbed a bank, hijacked a car or beat up a prostitute.

I agree with you liam. Same here truth be told. I have to say though, its a poor choice of subject matter to objectify for a children's toy setup!
 
I do agree it probably is a bad choice for the makers and store,

1) at 4-10 I can't imagine that many will understand what robbing a bank is so another subject would prove more appealing

2) the media have a field day

3) parents wont want to buy this, and as per point 1, kids won't be nagging their parents for this
 
As kids we played cowboys and Indians, cops and robbers ........with toy guns etc and we ( I like to think ) grew up to be diciplined adults.......I suspect kids these days wouldnt be allowed to run around outside brandishing a toy gun playing the same games.Is the country a less violent place now ? Progress or paranoia? :?
 
When we were kids we used to go down the woods and have battles with air rifles. I can still remember the pain when a pellet hit me in the eyebrow. I saw that one coming and just ducked enough. I have gone on to a long and infamous career of bank robbery, petrol station hold-ups and part time work as a sniper. Those lessons in the woods were invaluable and I believe children everywhere should be given the chance to role play real jobs from an early age.
 
My brother once shot a teeny bit of the lobe off a friend's ear when playing with air rifles in the woods - said he thought it was a bird :roll:

My son has a toy koala bear that was mine when I was a kid - always had a hole in it from where I'd shot it with an air rifle. He actually dug the pellet out a couple of years ago, which at the time we both thought was very cool :P
 
shooting abird is worse than shooting your mate!
