This thread popped up and although i don't like the wheel.... i love the option to choose something thats suits myself and the car, i love the stock steering wheel but i wonder if something slightly thinner, suede, would add to the driving experience, after all its the thing you most touch of the car, its a very important element, and IF you could have a new aftermarket steering wheel.... which would you choose..

the boss used heres looks really good quality, love the way this setup sits, they emulated the same distances to the column as the stock wheel.

Personally I think aftermarket steering wheels only suit full on track/race cars or the JDM/ricer scene. The wheel in the Z4M is one of the best I have come across. It's a hard act to follow. Do as I, and many others have done. Have the OEM wheels refurbed in whatever material you like. It's probably my favourite mod to my car.

I use a Sparco Monza in my track car. Lovely wheel, but the suede wears out quite quickly. I'm on my 3rd replacement now.

Personally fitting anything which doesn't have an airbag is insane in my opinion. Completely get where you're coming from but wouldn't want to lose an important option like that.

Unless you always wear a helmet in the car.
Most/all race steering wheels don't have the airbag because of that (with wearing a helmet the airbag does more bad than good).
But I bet you look like a complete idiot at the traffic lights with your helmet on

If you want something thinner (I can imagine, I have small hands too), you can always pick up a stock steering wheel and have that retrimmed with alcantara or something like that. Use the black m steering wheel inner parts and you have a bespoke trimmed, slightly thinner m steering wheel.

I know a guy who drives around with a z8 steering wheel. No buttons or anything on that wheel, but it looks pretty unique.

I've definitely used better wheels than the Z4 M-Sport - ergonomically I think it's lacking.

Unfortunately, I think aftermarket wheels don't look great in these cars so will be sticking with a Royal refurb I think :)

Momo screams Halfords to me.... And I thought you had more class Byron :P

Agree with Bing. (About Halfords)
Buy a cheap original off the Bay and have Royal re profile it

You need to check out the thread with the similarly red carbon dash and bits ...

I quite like that, even though I'd probably go slim alacantara recover if I was going to do anything
