Aftermarket HID kit

Hey everyone,

I got an aftermarket HID kit installed in my car but have had nothing but trouble with it... the bulbs flicker and shut off etc. I know these aren't a popular thing around here, however could anyone direct me to a kit on eBay that will work with my car and won't throw error codes (I've been told I need one with a dual relay).

Also, for anyone in Sydney Australia, could someone recommend a good place to get one installed or even a place to purchase one here that isn't exorbitantly expensive?

Thanks for all your help.

Not sure about shipping to Aus, but the kits with the best rep here in the UK are from here: http://www.hids-direct.co.uk/

Just coincidence that they have a Z4 pictured on their homepage...

I've got one of their 4300k 50w HID kits (non-slimline) and it's been perfect since fitting around Feb this year. No error codes, no flickering, always work.

I have the one HID's direct supply, well the one with a lambo on the front. Had a few of these kits and all been very good.

When going over bumps they do tend to flicker a tad, but im using different bulbs though Not very noticable tbh, and poo kits are ten times worse :D

Flicker over bumps is more likely to be due to the way the bulb holders are mounted. Mine are very secure - just as securely mounted as the originals.

I got my HID Kit from HIDS-Direct and I was adviced that these ones would fit the Z4 very well:-

Fast shipping, helpful customer support and so easy to fit. The ballasts fit inside the headlight casing a treat and there is no problem with warning lights on the dashboard. Its now like driving with headlights on rather than a candle lol. Well worth the money. I hope this helps someone :D

did you need to remove the headamp from the car to fit..... having just had the bumper off this week ..... I don't fancy doing it again for a while.
