Aftermarket Exhaust options - post pics or even better clips

heres mine....

rpi gt race axle back, Supersprint Xpipe the only silencing from the exhaust is from the cats, ..... This isnt representative of the "normal" sound as the car makes a very different noise since forced induction.

measures 101db @ the static tests..... its uncomfortably loud.

BTW the stock exhaust is a really nice piece, the CSL headers and front hi-flo cat section are a really nice design, the manifold is pretty much awesome.

Ok, so I haven't managed to wash the car or make better videos of the Remus back boxes yet, so I'll just post what I have so far. No comments on my filthy car / tail pipes! Both were very shiny until the roads were salted :P

The sound quality isn't great so turn the volume up.

I'll have another go when I get some time...

thats louder than i expected... everyone always says these are like stock just a tad louder.....they sound quite abit more noiser from your clip, or is that the recording??.... does sound like a loud stock exhaust... which is no bad thing at all.

Bloody hell thats loud!!!!!

Based on what you are saying, ie the stock exhaust is already decent, maybe the best way to get a bit more noise out of it is to simply remove the CAT? I don't want it to look like I have an aftermarket exhaust, just sound a bit nicer :)

Beedub, it's definitely louder than stock, with additional bass tones at idle and lower engine speeds. There's an amazing resonance at 3.5 - 5.5rpm too. Above 5.5rpm the engine noise is increasingly audible with the familiar rasp. The clip is fairly representative, you can even hear it popping back through the exhaust on the first video at about six seconds in. The fullness of the sound captured is thanks to echoes from buildings in an empty London street. I'm not sure I could live with yours, but it does sound good. Some tracks have a 100db limit anyway...

M@r]{, if your remove the cat, you'll need to put it back each year or it will fail the MOT. I do know what you mean about not wanting a system that looks aftermarket. Also, I didn't want to lose the S54 rasp.

BMWZ4MC,

As the AC Schnitzer exhaust is manufactured by Remus is this video representative of how yours sounds ? If so, me likey, a lot !!

sounds really nice, and yes i could defo hear the pops!! yes i agree my setup is not viable imo......

mark, to gain more noise how about gutting your stock rear cans?? This will really gain you some sound...

This is my own creation quad exhuast sytem. X-pipe after the second cats going into two 4" Dia x 12" rear boxes . (the proper way of doing things.) Cars a 3.0

It's hard to tell, bit I think mine preserves more of the OEM sound with added sounds, whilst this sounds like it owes much less to OEM. Trouble is, I've only heard mine from inside the car, and I can't take the roof off!

Supersprint Race, nice sound, little bit louder an motorway:)
