Aftermarket Coilovers

Hello guys,

I have my self a 2003 Z4 2.5i and has already 145,000 miles on it. It is long over due for a new strut, shocks, and springs. However, the oem set is really expensive so I was considering to look for aftermarkets. I do want the same or similar ride height. I don't want to sacrifice the height for looks because the car is already very low. I will also be changing all four wheels to 17in and 235/45/R17 tires. I want to ask what are good options for aftermarket coil overs with my preferences

Do you specifically want adjustable (height, rebound, bump, etc.) 'coilovers' or are you really looking for a simple fit-and-forget aftermarket suspension set-up?

Most coilovers will lower the car, some will start at -10mm...but different spring pads may be able to add that back in.

For OE-style replacements you could just buy any decent name OE replacement parts (Sachs, Bilstein, Monroe, Koni, etc.) from a motor factor such as EuroCarParts, GSF Car Parts, CarParts4Less, Autodoc, etc.

For example...

I was going through a similar dilemma with my car earlier this year, I've decided to refresh the suspension for bilstein b4's, top mounts, and eibach pro kit springs. I wanted the car slightly lower without compromising comfort too much. Good luck whatever you decide

Thank you. This does help it narrow down what I want. I was initially gonna for bc racing coilovers bc they are cheaper but I noticed how much more reliable Bielstein's are and is in the same price range so I am thinking of with that instead.

For me, my car won't be seeing the hairpins on a track anytime soon, if ever, if I'm honest. So OE spec with eibach springs seem a natural choice.

I went with kw v2, my 15 year old suspension was rusting through from north east salts. Wasn't worth replacing each part individually. Ill look for something else after Im done with KW or rebuild a set of originals. KW warranty sucks, hasn't been the best to work with. Especially when its new out of the box and hasn't been installed. If you google around for kw warranty, you'll see the lack of support they give. This is for KW usa, KW germany might be a different story.
