after programming

I brought a Z4 3.0I US car into Canada. I had it programmed for daytime runnigs lights. After the programming I noticed with the car shutoff if I turn on the light or right signal the corresponding marker and taillight at th back comes on and stays on, is this normal I'm being told it is?
