After market sensors

Has anyone fitted, or had fitted, front parking sensors in the lower grills rather than into the main body of the front bumper?
Just seems a lot less drastic than cutting holes the bumper but I'm not sure they will work in this position as the grills are quite deeply recessed.
 
Sorry not in the front grill, but had sensors put in the rear bumper at the dealership when I bought the car ( was 3 months old )

To be honest I wouldn't worry about cutting holes as they look completely OEM
