So, after a very long two & a half year wait, my excellent girlfriend has got me some black grills and some black angel eye headlights, from 2Xcite.

(Not my choice of bed sheet, in case you were wondering)

I'm only going to have the halo rings wired up, not the 501 bulbs or the middle leds. IMO I think they look much better.

They give a nice a facelift effect from the tired, withered OEM lights

This is something I could do, but as I'm lucky enough to have a brother who has his own company doing car audio and general car modifications, and is good at this type of thing, and combined with the fact I'm really quite lazy, I'd thought I would give him the please of installing them for me.

Due to the fact the sidelights have only LEDS and no resistance, the system thinks a bulbs is out, the indicators come on slightly to compensate. I have ordered some resistors so sort this issue out.

I have also installed my HID kit into the lights. They look great, and these photos don't do it any justice.

Now, this is where I need some advice with regards to setting up the dipped beam pattern. It seems to be directed to the left of the road, and up slightly, have had a quick fiddle with the directional settings, and made slight improvements but is still not really good enough. Anyone else had issues, or good tips to setting everything up? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi!

i've just installed these lights as well! got them from 2xcite also! can you supply me with a link to where you got the resistors from as i also have a light on the dash! how do you go about installing them?

Those look amazing. An easy fit? I really like the look of those aftermarket 'non hockeystick' lights.

I've got a prefacelift with factory xenons, I assume this would be a massive faff to convert?

That's correct, these are not compatible with xenons

Bit late replying to this post, the link to the resistors is;

They're pretty easy to install, but I'd advise you need a solder iron, and lots if black insulation tape. Just wire these resistors in between the cars power supply and the wires to the hallo rings. I'll draw a diagram if anyone gets stuck :)

Unfortunately, I don't think they are compatible with pre-existing HIDs, but to be far, If I had HIDs as original, I'd leave them there because hanging a candle in a jam jar would be a more effective way of lighting the road at night than these light units.

I have the same lights, and the beam also slants off to the left..but once you are on the road they look fine.. Got the hubby to drive in front of me to check lol!

My Dads just had the same lights fitted and now has the error bulb displaying.
I've had no trouble with mine, so is it just unlucky, or is it down to how they are fitted? 8)

If only the angel eyes have been wired up to the sidelights then the lack of resistance causes the warning. You can solve this by either coding out the bulb check or fitting inline resistors.

As for the beam pattern, you'll find out if it's fine when you go for an MOT...
