After breaking many fingers...

I finally managed to have enough flexibility in my limp lifeless hands to fit the performance grill kit. Amazing PITA to fit :x but i'm pleased with the result and the few £'s I saved :)

looks brilliant but why was it a PITA? I know E89 is not as simple as E85/86 to fit grilles, did replace colleague's E92 to performance one but it wasn't too difficult.

Wow loving those 8)

How much are they? any chance of a how too :D

I nearly bought some for the 1 Series, was just a case of undoing a row of screws along top of bumper and moving the bumper forward so you can get your hand in to undo the retaining clips.

But traded the 1er in for the Z4 :)

Looks great, took forever to get mine on too. I had to remove the air duct and maneuver my arms to remove mine, it just wasn't possible w/o the right tools if I didn't go that route.

Car looks awesome

I still prefer grey grills though, there's something I dont like about all black grills

Its the fact you have to take the air duct off to gain access to the void in front of the rad. My E92 bumper was more flexible and the mouts seemed higher up so I could put more force on the clips.

They look sick on yours rfx, I had to use a long hex key to pop some of the clips

Tim they were about £70 from my local dealer. I'd stick a how too up but its pretty much a suck it and see exercise. Once you have the air duct off take a look at the replacement grill clip locations and try and manoeuvre your hands into the right position to unclip them from behind. Corner ones are a right pain, but its achievable with a long hex head driver to put a bit of pressure on the clips.

Thanks!

And you got yours at a good price too. Mine is a bit more and when I inquired how much the dealership would charge me to install it, they quoted me $210usd. So in the end, difficult installation but well worth the money I saved and experience. :D

Cheers for the info, this will be my first mod me thinks :)

Looks very aggressive, especially with the yellowy halogen colour angel eyes... A very nice mod indeed.

One of the first people to do work on an E89 I think ...

Looks great

It does look nice on blue/msport. I bought these for mine, but when on a black car, the front just didn't look right to me, it looked too 'after market' rather than 'cool' on mine, so they were returned. As I say, looks nice on yours tho.

Cheers guys, shes getting there. I'm trying to go for the oem+ look without making it too racer. After I get my Eibach Pro Kit fitted on the 27th i've been toying with the idea of a new diffuser. This ones by 3D Design and seems to work really well with stock dual and quad setups. Guess i've been bitten by the bug :o
